Bass-Mate .
Bass-Mate is a 'closed box' Bass Bin which provides the
DIY enthusiast with a simple means of enhancing the lower frequency registers,
without the difficulties which can often beset more complicated
enclosures.
The 10" Peerless
Driver has a long throw coil assembly permitting a +/- 9mm cone
excursion which is capable of providing solid bass down to 35Hz in an
enclosure of some 45L.
A 50W Power Amplifier is built into
the rear of the cabinet which provides adjustments for volume, frequency
cutoff and phase variation.
Low level signal inputs from L and R channels are summed
internally and filtered to provide a single channel bass signal. which is subsequently amplified.
These inputs are fed from line level connections on RCA Phono plugs,
(preferred), or for those without pre-amps or access to line level signals
users may tap the signals directly from their normal speaker outputs. In this
case the input is through a high signal level Speakon connector.
Cabinet construction is from 18mm
Medite MDF, the interior of which is asymmetrically braced at three positions.
The cabinet is self coloured and provides the user with options to complete the
project in their preferred finish
Note:- If you are planning to veneer your
cabinets, a square edged version should be ordered as Bass-Mate is otherwise
supplied with rounded edges. Some sanding of loose panels will also be required.
