Loudspeaker grille cloths | coloured fabrics | bi-stretch

      A range of loudspeaker grille cloths in a variety of attractive coloured fabrics. They are suitable for covering new loudspeaker grille frames or for replacing damaged cloths or fabrics as a repair to existing speaker cabinets. These materials feature a bi-stretch weave which enables elongation or stretch in two perpendicular directions. It is therefore easily stretched over suitably constructed frames and has a high transparency to sound.

       These bi-stretch fabrics are available in seven different colours. They are suitable for refurbishment or replacement on old and tired looking loudspeaker or on vintage radios and gramophones. Older grille cloths or mesh were often manufactured to a thicker weave than current practices and so replacements using a more modern material can provide an enhanced audio performance. Other acoustic grille frames and enclosures can also be recovered or refurbished in order to achieve a minimum of sound attenuation.

      The cloths are sold by the linear half-metre, (500 mm), and are of varying widths as shown in the tables, (1400 to 1800)mm One piece of fabric is usually sufficient for two medium-sized loudspeaker grilles. Up to four, half-metre material widths can be supplied in a rolled format which reduces the creasing that can occur with small folded pieces. Larger lengths, in half-metre increments, 1m to 5m maximum, are supplied in one piece and are in folded format.

      The colour swatches are computer generated as this gives a more accurate representation of the colours. Note however, these colours are still only approximations and if colour matching is important, then postal samples are the answer. These are provided in colours as requested, approximately, (120*180)mm in size. There is a small charge to cover packaging and postage.

      These loudspeaker fabrics are available in the following colours: Black, Brown, Burgundy, Navy, Almond, Dove Grey and Fawn.
